How we use your information
Aberdeen City Council collects this information about you so that you can create your own ACC Learn account, and to facilitate your access to a range of eLearning modules relevant to your role or interests.
How long we keep your information
We will keep your information for 3 years. Accounts will be suspended after a 2-year period of inactivity. We will keep statistical information for quality and performance management purposes for 5 years. You will not be identifiable from this information.
Please note that it is yours or your employer’s responsibility to keep a record of your training and development.
Your rights
You have rights to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the rights you have. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. That is the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data lawfully.
Our Legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Wherever the Council processes personal data we need to make sure we have a legal basis for doing so in data protection law. The Council’s legal basis for this processing is that it is necessary for the performance of a contract or necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Council. This is because we may have a contractual obligation to provide you with access to training or as part of our public task to work effectively with partners to fulfil our duties relating to child protection and wellbeing.
